The Enviro Sharps Solutions 3

The Enviro Sharps Solutions 3 is an injection molded solid reusable plastic 3-gallon sharps container (container). The tare weight of the container is 1.85 pounds without lid and handles. The OD dimensions of the container are 13-3/8 x 6-3/8 x 15-1/4 inches including lid and attached handles. Fill line height is 9-1/2 inches ID. The nominal wall thickness is 0.130 inches. The semi-transparent natural color lid is 12-1/2 x 6-3/8 x 2-3/8 inches OD, 0.32 pounds, 0.055 “ nominal minimum thickness with a 9-13/16 x 4-1/2 x 2-7/8 inch OD open access for rotating drop shutter tray. Two handles 3 x 1-1/8 x 4 inch OD, 0.099” thick, 1.4 Oz each are attached with 2 aluminum screw/rivets. Handles lock the lid on both sides.

Intend use
The Container is intended for use by healthcare providers, such as hospitals, laboratories, medical clinics, veterinary clinics and other facilities where needles are generated. The container is designed to safely contain sharps prior to removal from the generating facility, during transportation and until ultimate treatment and disposal of the sharps.

Proper use
The container features a mail drop, torturous path tumbler lid for safe and easy disposal of sharps. Simply deposit syringes horizontally into the opening of the lid and they are deposited automatically into the container. When the container is full the tumbler will indicate that it is time to replace the unit. The container has a visible full line that is etched around the outside of the entire container to verify the container is ready to be replaced. When full, insert the locking tabs to secure the container in the closed position and replace it with a clean sanitized container.
The container lid is equipped with needle removal feature. The “unwinder” mechanism is located in the center of the lid toward the front. The unwinder is used to separate needles from syringes or phlebotomy needles from blood collection (vacutainer) apparatus. The container is stabilized in the wall mount container to prevent slipping during use. The design of the unwinder allows the employee to use the one-handed technique for removal of the needle. This system provides a secure capture of the needle following removal.
